misleading:
1. to lead or guide wrongly; lead astray.
2. to lead into error of conduct, thought, or judgment

streamlining: a teardrop line of contour offering the least possible resistance to a current of air, water, etc.

shortening:
1. to make short or shorter.
2. to reduce, decrease, take in, etc.: to shorten sail.
